On December 22, the new generation of domestic autonomous controllable composite robot "Travel 300" jointly developed by 11 domestic enterprises was unveiled in the exhibition center of the National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone in Zhongguancun, marking that the independent innovation capability of China's composite robot has reached a new level, and the robot industry is ushering in an important period of full speed development and upgrading.
 
The composite robot is also known as the mobile operating robot. Its moving chassis is the "foot" of the robot, the cooperative robot arm is the "arm" of the robot, the vision system is the "eye" of the robot, and the end actuator is the "hand" of the robot. It integrates environmental perception, positioning and navigation, mobile operation, artificial intelligence, mechanical electronics, intelligent sensors and other technologies. It is a new type of robot that integrates the functions of mobile robots and manipulators, which can be described as a collection of robotics.
 
It is understood that "Roam 300" is a new high-performance "hands, feet and eyes" integrated composite robot, is the integration of collaborative robots and autonomous mobile robots, and increase the laser, vision, force control and other sensor modules, while using a set of control system will be unified control of the components, the interconnection between the equipment and modules, open up the integration of more functions. Wei Hongxing, chairman of Aeroprimus, believes that composite robots are opportunities for domestic robots to catch up with foreign industrial robots and collaborative robots. However, he also pointed out that problems such as high cost, high use threshold, and dependence on imports of core components are the development pain points faced by composite robots. In recent years, in order to solve this problem, more and more enterprises have begun to carry out ecological cooperation, and the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain have formed a fist to strengthen collaborative innovation and industrial collaboration.
 
"Travel 300" is a joint research and development by 11 domestic enterprises and universities such as Mycom, Machine Science, aerospace information, Jizhijia, Zhongguancun Robot Industry Innovation Center, and formed a research consortium between enterprises and universities, overcoming key technologies such as high-performance composite robot parts, multi-equipment integration, and system security to achieve independent and controllable core components. It has promoted the large-scale application of composite robots in new energy, new energy vehicles, medicine, food, daily chemical, national defense, aerospace, 3C and other fields.
 
With the rapid rise in the complexity of manufacturing plants, people's demand for flexible automation equipment is ushering in the release of acceleration. Compared with the original by a single robot to complete a certain link of the task, the combination and assembly of multiple robots into a composite robot with more functional characteristics is becoming a new outlet for enterprises and the market. According to statistics, from 2017 to 2022, the average annual compound growth rate of composite robots is 45%, which is in the early stage of rapid development and has broad development prospects.
